· TYPE LOCALITY. "...ad ripam herbidam Volgae verfus Sysranum". [Oktyabrsky, Syzran Distr., Samara Region, Russia].

· RANGE. The steppe zone from E. Europe to the Altai.

· DISTRIBUTION AND VARIATION. The S. European part, N. and central Tian-Shan, W. Siberia (south), the Altai Mts.

· HABITAT AND BIOLOGY. Steppe and semi-desert habitats on plains and in the mountains. Flight period: May (sometimes April) to July, in the mountains (up to 3,000 m a.s.l.) June-July. Host plant (Romanoff, 1884): Stipa. Pupa hibernating.

· SIMILAR SPECIES. T. dohrnii: UNS ocelli blind; UNH white stripe in cell larger and diluted.
