· RANGE. The Crimea.

· HABITAT AND BIOLOGY. Dry clearings in mixed forests, steppe habitats. Flight period: June-August.

· SIMILAR SPECIES. S. dryas: UPF eye-spots centred with bluish pupils. S. ferula: UNH pattern contrasting, postdiscal band conspicuous.
