· TYPE LOCALITY. "Ziarat" [NW. Baluchistan, Pakistan].

· RANGE. From the NW. Himalaya and W. Hindu Kush to the W. Pamirs.

· HABITAT AND BIOLOGY. Clayey-stony slopes at 2,500-4,100 m a.s.l. Flight period: July-August.

· SIMILAR SPECIES. P. turkestana: fringes darker; UPF apical eye-spot smaller than anal one; UPS postdiscal band almost uniform in colour. P. panjshira: fringes white or whitish-brown; UPS postdiscal band uniform ochreous-yellow.
