· TYPE LOCALITY. "Gunib, Nord-Daghestan".

· RANGE. The E. part of the Caucasus and Transcaucasia to N. Iran.

· DISTRIBUTION AND VARIATION. The Caucasus Major - the nominate subspecies; the Caucasus Minor and Armenian Highland - ssp. savalanica Gross et Ebert, 1975 (=? zangezura Nekrutenko, 1989).

· TAXONOMIC NOTES. The specific status of P. daghestana requires confirmation as morphologically transitional forms are known between this taxon and P. geyeri, though no strict sympatry has been recorded so far.

· HABITAT AND BIOLOGY. Stony slopes at 1,000-2,500 m a.s.l. Flight period: July-September.

· SIMILAR SPECIES. P. geyeri: UNH veins pale and contrasting.
