Pseudochazara alpina (Staudinger, 1878)

· TYPE LOCALITY. "Kurusch im nordestlichen Caucasus...3000 m" [Kurush, S. Daghestan].

· RANGE. Confined to the eastern parts of the Caucasus and Transcaucasia.

· HABITAT AND BIOLOGY. Stony slopes at 2,200-3,100 m a.s.l. Flight period: July-August.

· SIMILAR SPECIES. P. guriensis: UNH greyish with a more strongly contrasting pattern; UNH postdiscal band almost inconspicuous.
