· TYPE LOCALITY. "...environs de Kiachta de la Siberie orientale" [Kyakhta, Buryatia, Russia].

· RANGE. Siberia and the Amur region.

· DISTRIBUTION AND VARIATION. The Altai and Sayan Mts., Trans-baikalia, the Amur region, the Far East, the Chukot Peninsula - the nominate subspecies (= pseudo-sculda Korshunov, 1977). The taxa pumila Staudinger, 1892 and vadimi Korshunov, 1995, are most probably only infrasubspecific forms.

· HABITAT AND BIOLOGY. Steppe-clad slopes, in the mountains up to 2,700 m a.s.l.; in the Far East in swamps and shrubby moorlands. Flight period: May-July.
