· TYPE LOCALITY. "Margelan; Samarkand (Urgut); Hazret-Sultan Gebirge" [Uzbekistan: Marghelan; Urgut; Mt. Khazret-Sultan].

· RANGE. From Ghissar-Alai to S. Kazakhstan (the Karatau Mts.).

· DISTRIBUTION AND VARIATION. S. Kazakhstan (the Karatau Mts.), W. and Inner Tian-Shan - the nominate subspecies; Ghissar, S. Ghissar, Alai, the N. Pamirs - ssp. lucida Staudinger, 1886.

· HABITAT AND BIOLOGY. Grassy and flowery habitats up to 2,800 m a.s.l. Flight period: June-August. Known host plant: Bromus oxydon.

· SIMILAR SPECIES. M. russiae: UPH discal band darkened.
