· TYPE LOCALITY. "Raddefka" [Radde, Amur region, Russia].

· RANGE. E. Asia from E. Mongolia to NE. China and Korea.

· DISTRIBUTION AND VARIATION. The Amur and Ussuri regions - the nominate subspecies.

· HABITAT AND BIOLOGY. Mainly sparse woodlands. Flight period: July-August. Known host plant (Graeser, 1888): Agrostis clavata.

· SIMILAR SPECIES. M. halimede: smaller, UPS black coloration paler and narrow, UNH submarginal ocelli diffused and often blind, discal broken line well-developed. Forms transitional to epimede are often found in the intergradation zone.
