Lethe marginalis maacki (Bremer, 1861). · TYPE LOCALITY. "Khokodody" [Hakodate, Hokkaido, Japan]. · RANGE. The Amur reg. and E. China to Korea and Japan. · DISTRIBUTION AND VARIATION. The Amur and Ussuri regions, represented by the ssp. maacki (Bremer, 1861). · HABITAT AND BIOLOGY. Flies under the canopy of lowland deciduous forests from July to August. Host plants in Japan (Fukuda et al., 1983): grasses (Miscanthus sinensis, Spodiopogon sibiricus, Scirpus wichurae, Carex).
