· TYPE LOCALITY. "Hakodadi (North Japan)" [Hakodate, Hokkaido, Japan].

· RANGE. E. China, Korea, S. Ussuri reg. and Sakhalin I., S. Kurile Is., Japan.

· DISTRIBUTION AND VARIATION. The nominate form flies in the S. Ussuri region; S. Sakhalin - ssp. sachalinensisMatsumura, 1925; on Kuril Is. - ssp. tomariope Bryk, 1942.

· HABITAT AND BIOLOGY. Flies in July in thin deciduous forests up to 600-700 m. Host plant (Fukuda et al., 1983): Sasa (Kuriles); in the S. Ussuri region the larvae probably feed on Phragmites japonicus.
