· TYPE LOCALITY. "Semiretschie ad lacum Tschatir-Kul (9000')... et prope Utsch-Tasch in Kaschgar" [Uch-Tash, Lake Chatyr-Kel, Turugart Mts., Tian-Shan].

· RANGE. From Alai to Inner Tian-Shan and China (Kashgar).

· DISTRIBUTION AND VARIATION. The nominate subspecies occurs in Inner Tian-Shan (the Baubash-Ata Mts.). Several other subspecies are recognized:

ssp. dublitzkyi O. Bang-Haas, 1927 - N. Tian-Shan;

ssp. kasak Avinov et Sweadner, 1951 - N. Tian-Shan (the Kendyktau Mts.);

ssp. durana Avinov et Sweadner, 1951 - Inner Tian-Shan;

ssp. robusta Avinov et Sweadner, 1951 - Alai.

· HABITAT AND BIOLOGY. Steppe-clad slopes at 2,500-3,600 m a.s.l. Flight period: July-August.

· SIMILAR SPECIES. K. josephi, K. leechi, K. talastauana: UPH marginal border not crossed by pale veins, or they are faint.
