· TYPE LOCALITY. "Trans-Alai" [Zaalaisky Mts., Tajikistan].

· RANGE. Ghissar and the Pamirs-Alai.

· DISTRIBUTION AND VARIATION. Besides the nominate subspecies (the Zaalaisky Mts.), the following two subspecies have been described: ssp. ornata Avinov et Sweadner, 1951 - Darvaz; ssp. hohlbecki Avinov et Sweadner, 1951 - the W. Pamirs.

· HABITAT AND BIOLOGY. Stony and steppe-clad slopes at 2,400-3,800 m a.s.l. Flight period: July-August.

· SIMILAR SPECIES. K. alpherakyi: UPS postdiscal band contrasting and bichromous (inner part sharply paler); UPF eye-spots without white pupils, as a rule.
