· TYPE LOCALITY. "Thian. or. (prope Chamyl); Buch. s. or. (ab.)" [Zeravshansky Mts., Uzbekistan]. The indication of E. Tian-Shan as the type locality is wrong.

· RANGE. Middle Asia from the Turkestansky Mts. to Lake Karakul in the E. Pamirs.

· DISTRIBUTION AND VARIATION. The nominate subspecies flies in Ghissar. Two other subspecies have been described: ssp. grumi Avinov et Sweadner, 1951 - Darvaz; ssp. mushketovi Avinov et Sweadner, 1951 (= roborovskyi Avinov et Sweadner, 1951) - the E. Pamirs.

· HABITAT AND BIOLOGY. Xerophytic slopes at 3,200-4,500 m a.s.l. Flight period: July-August.

· SIMILAR SPECIES. K. josephi: male FW without androconia. K. maureri: male androconial scales differ in shape; UPS bands brighter reddish.
