· TYPE LOCALITY. "Hindukusch orient." [Pass Beik, E. Pamirs].

· RANGE. From NE. Afghanistan across the Pamirs to E. Hindu Kush and N. Karakorum.

· DISTRIBUTION AND VARIATION. The nominate subspecies occurs in the SE. Pamirs. Other subspecies are as follows: ssp. chitralica Tytler, 1926 - the W. Pamirs; ssp. hodja Avinov et Sweadner, 1951 - the SW. Pamirs (Ishkashimsky Mt. Range).

· HABITAT AND BIOLOGY. Dry steppe-clad, more rarely stony, slopes at 3,800-4,600 m a.s.l. Flight period: July-August.
