· TYPE LOCALITY. "Umgebung Berlin".

· RANGE. From Morocco and Portugal across S. Europe, the S. European part and the lower Volga area to the Caucasus and Transcaucasia.

· HABITAT AND BIOLOGY. Dry stony slopes and steppe habitats. Flight period: July-September. Host plants in Europe (Lang, 1884): Festuca ovina, Poa annua, Deschampsia cespitosa, Anisantha sterilis.

· SIMILAR SPECIES. H. fatua: larger; UNH pattern contrasting, postdiscal band clearly bordered by a fine dark line on both sides.
