· TYPE LOCALITY. "...10 km NW Ercinzan, 1500 m" [NE. Turkey].

· RANGE. S. Transcaucasia (the Armenian Highland, Talysh) to N. Iran and Turkey.

· HABITAT AND BIOLOGY. Same as for H. naricina, preferring montane habitats up to 2,100 m a.s.l. Flight period: June-July.

· SIMILAR SPECIES. H. narica: FW apex pointed; black-brown margin narrow; male apical eye-spot smaller; UNH veins whitish; female UPF without median line, base not darkened. H. naricina: smaller; black-brown margins and androconial area narrower; apical eye-spot smaller; UNH ground colour darker and more uniform; female UPF with neither median line nor basal darkening. H. fusca: UPF without dark spot at end of cell; UPS wing bases in female less strongly darkened; UNH veins whitish.
