· TYPE LOCALITY. Unknown, probably a vicinity of Lake Baikal.

· RANGE. From the S. Altai across S. Siberia to the Ussuri region, N. China and Korea.

· DISTRIBUTION AND VARIATION. The Altai and Sayan Mts., Transbaikalia - the nominate subspecies (= sedakovii Eversmann, 1847; = sajanensis Warren, 1931); the Amur and Ussuri regions - ssp. alcmenides Sheljuzhko, 1919 (= septorientalis Goltz, 1934).

· HABITAT AND BIOLOGY. Flowery and often marshy meadows in the mixed forest zone up to 2,000 m a.s.l. Flight period: July-August. Host plants (Kogure, Iwamoto, 1992): Calamagrostis, Dactylis, Poa, Festuca, Carex.

· SIMILAR SPECIES. E. ligea: UPF and UPH bands uniform in colour.
