· TYPE LOCALITY. "Wien" [Vienna, Austria].

· RANGE. The Alps and the Carpathians.

· DISTRIBUTION AND VARIATION. In the former USSR, this species, represented by the ssp. trajanus Hormuzaki, 1895 (= karpathica L. Miller, 1928), has been reported only from Mt. Goverla (= Hoverla), E. Carpathians of the Ukraine.

· HABITAT AND BIOLOGY. Found in (sub)alpine meadows at 1,800-2,500 m a.s.l. Flight period: July-August.
