Boeberia parmenio (Boeber, 1809) · TYPE LOCALITY. Lake Baikal. · RANGE. From the Altai across S. Siberia and Mongolia to Yakutia and the Amur region; NE. China. · DISTRIBUTION AND VARIATION. In general, variation is not great; in high-altitude habitats of the Altai Mts., up to 2,900 m a.s.l., a smaller and darker form, alpina Elwes, 1899, is known to occur. · HABITAT AND BIOLOGY. Associated with forest-steppe habitats; commonly found in dry light pine forests, especially at their edges. Flight period: May-July.
