· RANGE. Tian-Shan.
· DISTRIBUTION AND VARIATION. Central and Inner Tian-Shan (east) the nominate subspecies; Inner Tian-Shan (west) - ssp. prasolovi Kreuzberg, 1986; N. non-Shan (Kirghizsky Mts.) - ssp. hohlbecki Avinov, 1913; Zailnsky and Kunghei- Alatau - ssp. martiniheringi Bryk et Eisner, 1930; WW Tian-Shan (Tolas sky and Susamyr-Tau Mts.) - ssp. sokolovi Kreuzberg, 1990.
· HABITATS AND BIOLOGY . Stony slopes under rocks and mountain ridges at 3,300-4,000 m a.s.l. Flight period: July. Larvae feeding probably on Lagotis decumberls and L. integrifolia.
· SIMILAR SPECIES. P. simo. UPH submarginal band represented by a discontinuous row of arrow-like teeth. P. simonius. UPH submarginal band forming an even continuous curve.
