· TYPE LOCALITY. "...sudwestlichen Vorbergen des Altai an kahlten felsigen Stellen" [Bukhtarma River sources, Altai]
· SYNONYMS: clarius Eversmann, 1843 (nom. praeoccup.).
· RANGE. The Altai, Saur and Tarbagatai.
· DISTRIBUTION AND VARIATION. The nominate subspecies flies in the Altai Mts.; the ssp. clarius Bryk et Eisner, 1932 occurs in the Saur and Tarbagatai Mts.
· HABITATS AND BIOLOGY . Open flowery slopes in the forest zone up to 1,800- 2,000 m a.s.l. In Saur and Tarbagatai, it occurs also at lower altitudes (down to 300 m a.s.l.), preferring stony slopes and canyons. Flight period: May-July. Host plant: Corydalis (C. nobilis and some others). Hibernation in eggs or newly-hatched larvae.
