· RANGE. Confined to the mountains of NE. Yakutia.
·DISTRIBUTION AWD VARIATION. The origin of type material is uncertain; males are unknown from the type locality. The taxon ammosovi Korshunov, 1988, described from ME. Yakutia (Suntar-Khayatta Mts.), is represented by a local population in the middle flow of East Khandyga River. In view of the considerable individual variation and insufficient material corning from the type locality, the question about the taxonomic status of ammosovi remains open.
· HABITATS AND BIOLOGY . Inhabiting shingle screes at about 1,500 m a.s.l, flying little even in sunshine. Flight period: mid-June to early July. Eggs are laid on stones around the host plant, Corlidalis gorodhoui. The pupa and larvae of various in stars hibernating, and the species is likely to have two-year long generations.
· SIMILAR SPECIES. P. tenedius. much larger, UPS with markings well-developed, HW usually with red spots.
