• DISTRIBUTION AND VARIATION. Saur and Tarbagatai mts.

• HABITATS AND BIOLOGY. Locally on dry screes at foothills up to 1,500 m a.s.l. Flight period: June.

• SIMILAR SPECIES. Melitaea didyma: black marking of UPH well-developed.
