• TYPE LOCALITY. "Bureja-Gebirge" [Bureinsky Mts., Amur region].

• SYNONYMS: rusticanus Butler, 1870.

• RANGE. E. Asia from S. China to the Amur region and Japan.

• DISTRIBUTION AND VARIATION. The Amur and Ussuri regions, populated by the nominate subspecies.

• HABITATS AND BIOLOGY. Edges and clearings in different forest types up to the upper forest line. Flight period: May-June. Host plant in Japan: Quercus mongolica (Fukuda et al., 1984). Pupae hibernating.
