• TYPE LOCALITY. . "Cashmere" [Kashmir, N. India].

• SYNONYMS: balucha Evans, 1932; dentatus Albert!, 1940.

• RANGE. Central Asia from N. Iran to Pakistan and N. India.

• DISTRIBUTION AND VARIATION. Mountains of Middle Asia (Kopet-Dagh, Baisun-Tau, Ghissar, Darvaz, the W. Pamirs). Variation can hardly be traced due to insufficient material.

• HABITATS AND BIOLOGY. Xerothermic habitats (dry flood beds, sunny slopes) at foothills and in the mountains from 500 to 3,000 m a.s.l. Flight period: April-September, presumably in several generations depending on local conditions

• SIMILAR SPECIES. C. alceae: male lacking a UNF hair tuft. C. flocciferus, C. orientalis, C. stauderi: genitalia different (Fig.).
