Lowland deciduous forests. Flight period: April-September, with adults hibernating. Host plant (Graeser, 1888): Rhamnus davurica. • SIMILAR SPECIES. G. rhamni, G. maxima: UPF and UPH ground colour uniform. G. amintha: UPF ground colour with more or less well-developed orange dusting.
