• TYPE LOCALITY. "Tschagdar, langs des Kock-Ssu, 10 Werst von Karakasuk, 11.500 Fuss" [About 15 km from Pass Kara-Kazyk, 2,900 m a.s.l., Koksu Valley, southern slope ofAlaisky Mts., Kirghizia].
• RANGE . Ghissar, Alai and Tian-Shan.
• HABITAT AND BIOLOGY. Foothills and lower mountains at altitudes ranging from 1,000 m (the Zailiisky Alatau Mts.) to 3,000 m a.s.l. (the Alaisky Mts.). Flight period: June-July.
• SIMILAR SPECIES. C. staudingeri: smaller; UPS ground colour orange, usually without violet tinge; UPF marginal border often interrupted by yellow veins.
