• TYPE LOCALITY. "Siberia". [Chita reg., Nerchinsk].
• RANGE . From the Altai Mts. across S. Siberia and Mongolia to the Ussuri region and SE. China.
• DISTRIBUTION AND VARIATION. The nominate form (= aurora Esper, 1783, nom. praeoccup.; = sibirica Lederer, 1852, = kenteana Ruhl, 1895) occurs in Transbaikalia, the Amur and Ussuri regions. A different subspecies, alpina Verity, 1911 (= semenovi Standel, I960), lives in the Altai and Sayan Mts.
• HABITAT AND BIOLOGY. Dry valleys, meadows, mountain slopes up to 1,800 m a.s.l. Flight period: June-August. Host plants (Kurentzov, 1970, Danchenko, in press): Vicia, Astragalus, Trifolium lucanicum.
