• RANGE . The Pamirs-Alai, Inner Tian-Shan, Ghissar, the Hindu Kush, the Himalaya.
• DISTRIBUTION AND VARIATION. The Pamirs - ssp. erythas Grum-Grshimailo, 1890; Alai - ssp. elissa Grum-Grshimailo, 1890). Populations from Ghissar and Darvaz probably represent a distinct subspecies.
• HABITAT AND BIOLOGY. Mountain meadows at 2,700-4,200 m a.s.l. Flight period: June-August. Host plants: Astragalus spp.
