Colias christophi

• TYPE LOCALITY. "...von Kara-Kasuk, am Platze Artscha-Basch" [Archa-Bashi N. of Pass Kara-Kasyk, Alaisky Mts., Kirghizia].
• RANGE . Ghissar, Alai.
• DISTRIBUTION AND VARIATION. Only the nominate subspecies. There is no reason to consider the ssp. helialaica Schulte, 1988, described from Shakhimardan, i.e. from the northern slopes of the Alaisky Mts., as more than an infrasubspecific variety as its type locality lies only a few miles away from that of the nominate subspecies.
• HABITAT AND BIOLOGY. Steep stony slopes and moraines at 2,500-3,500 m a.s.l. Flight period: June-July. Host plants: Astragalus spp.
