High-montane meadows with scanty vegetation at 3,400-4,500 m a.s.I. Flight period: July-August. • SIMILAR SPECIES. B. butleri: UNH veins dusted with brownish scales. • TYPE LOCALITY. "Lahoul" [?Lahore, N. India].
• RANGE. Nan-Shan, Tibet and the Himalaya.
• DISTRIBUTION AND VARIATION. The presence of the recently described ssp. nekrutenkoi Kreuzberg, 1989 in Inner Tian-Shan requires confirmation, as only the holotype is known, with its provenance impossible to be exactly elucidated due to an illegible label.
• SIMILAR SPECIES. B. shawii: UNH veins not dusted with brownish scales.
