LEPIDOPTERA

Erebia troubridgei Dubatolov, 1992
      Erebia troubridgei Dubatolov, 1992

· TYPE LOCALITY. Yakutia, 232 road-km from Khandyga to Magadan, upper flow of Khandyga River.

· RANGE. From central Yakutia to the W. Chukot Peninsula.

· TAXONOMIC NOTES. This species is frequently regarded as a subspecies of E. dabanensis, but we know several localities in NE. Yakutia where the two taxa occur sympatrically. There is also some probability that troubridgei is a junior synonym of tschuktscha Herz, 1903, a taxon hitherto never revised.

· HABITAT AND BIOLOGY. Flight in June-July in lowland meadows and over stony slopes.

· SIMILAR SPECIES. E. dabanensis: UNF black ocelli placed within a single band; all ocelli rounded. E. fletcheri: larger; UNH postdiscal band well-defined. E. kozhantschikovi: larger; UNF ocelli placed within a single reddish-brown band; UNH postdiscal band contrasting, shaded with silvery colour from both sides. E. occulta: discal band not defined; ocelli reduced.
