· TYPE LOCALITY. "...in campis aridis ad lacum Noor-Saisan" [Zaisan, SE. Kazakhstan].
· RANGE. Confined to mountains ranging from Ghissar to Tarbagatai.
· DISTRIBUTION AND VARIATION. The nominate subspecies is distributed from Ghissar-Alai in the west and the N. Pamirs in the south up to the Boro-Khoro, Saur and Tarbagatai mts. in the east. The taxonomic status of the var. alexandra Heyne, [1894], described from the Kirghizsky Mts., is rather obscure, but most probably it is an infrasubspecific form.
· HABITAT AND BIOLOGY. A common species of humid mountain meadows at 1,000-3,000 m a.s.l. or even higher. Flight period: May-August without pronounced generations.
