 Pyrgus speyeri (Staudinger, 1887)

• TYPE LOCALITY. . "Baranowka, Ussuri, Suifun, Blagoweschensk" [the S. Amur and Ussuri regions].

• RANGE. Central and E. Asia from the Sayan Mts. across Mongolia to Korea.

• DISTRIBUTION AND VARIATION. The E. Sayan Mts., Transbaikalia, the Amur and Ussuri regions. Varies in size of the spots on UPS and UNS. The status of the f. seitzi Mabille, 1909, described from E. Sayan, is unclear, most probably it being a spotless aberration of the female.

• HABITATS AND BIOLOGY. Open grassy habitats, mostly in river valleys. Flight period: July-August.

• SIMILAR SPECIES. P. alveus: UPS and UNS white spots larger, UNH ground colour greenish. P. serratulae: UNH greenish with spots rounded and separated by veins.
