   Oeneis nanna   (Menetries, 1859)

· TYPE LOCALITY. "Amour" [Amur River].

· RANGE. From the Altai across Siberia and Mongolia to the Ussuri region.

· DISTRIBUTION AND VARIATION. Transbaikalia, the Far East, the Amur and Ussuri regions - the nominate subspecies (= hulda Staudinger, 1887); the Altai and Sayan Mts. - ssp. anna Austaut, 1911; the Far East - ssp. dzhugdzhuri Sheljuzhko, 1929, the latter taxon described from the Yankansky Mts., NW. Amur region (not Dzhugdzhur Mts.!, see Korshunov, 1996) and probably representing a "good" species.

· HABITAT AND BIOLOGY. Meadows and sparse woodlands. Flight period: June-July.

· SIMILAR SPECIES. O. urda: UNH postdiscal band broader and projected along vein M3. O. brunhilda: UPF male androconial stripe reduced.
