· TYPE LOCALITY. "Siaret" [Iran].

· RANGE. Confined to SE. Transcaucasia and N. Iran.

· DISTRIBUTION AND VARIATION. Talysh.

· HABITAT AND BIOLOGY. Deciduous forests up to 1,500 m a.s.l. The butterflies prefer shady places near fields, clearings and roads. Flight period: June-September in one or two generations depending on the altitude. Host plant (Nekrutenko, 1990): Festuca. Pupa hibernating.

· SIMILAR SPECIES. L. maera: UPF lacking contrastingly ochreous-yellow spots. L. menava: FW produced, UNH light with fine brown lines, UNF discal spot silky or pearlish-grey. L. petropolitana: UPS ground colour dark with fine dark lines (especially on HW).
