• TYPE LOCALITY. "Samarkand [Hazret-Sultan Mountains]" [Samarkand Distr., W.Ghissar, Uzbekistan].

• DISTRIBUTION AND VARIATION. So far known from the western part of the Ghissar (Baisuntau and Kuhitang-Tau mts.) only.

• HABITATS AND BIOLOGY. Dry mountain meadows at 1,000-2,500 m a.s.l. Flight period: mid-May to early July. probably in two generations.

• SIMILAR SPECIES. Melitaea didyma, M. enarea: male genitalia different.
