• TYPE LOCALITY. "Ordub." [Ordubad, Nakhichevan Region, Azerbaijan].

• RANGE. From Transcaucasia to S. Iran (Fars) and Iraq (Kurdistan).

• DISTRIBUTION AND VARIATION. S. Transcaucasia (Armenia, Nakhichevan); variation little, displayed mainly in the intensity of UNH white suffusion.

• HABITATS AND BIOLOGY. Arid landscapes up to 2,000 m a.s.l. in the mountains. Flight period: (April) May-June, sometimes to July, presumably in a single generation.

• SIMILAR SPECIES. M. tessellum larger, FW less strongly pointed, UNH ground colour darker.
